Science Fiction · Narrative Design & Worldbuilding
A space opera set a million years into a Tang Dynasty-inspired human empire, where a thousand-year dynasty has been faking its own succession.
What this demonstrates
-
Adapting a known structural framework (Dune) to an original setting
-
Running two narrative spines at different scales: political and cosmic
-
Faction design built on competing ideological stakes
-
Pacing that escalates from personal revenge to civilizational stakes
Intro

Millennia ago, the Light God Church chose a man to unite the fractured star-systems of humanity. He was the First Emperor, the one who crossed the Black Wall at the edge of known space and never returned. In his absence, the empire he built has spent seven thousand years slowly coming apart.
Now, in the ninth millennium of the Imperial Calendar, humanity spans the galaxy: star-lanes carry ten thousand ships between a million worlds, and the Forbidden Army holds the frontier. Somewhere beyond the Black Wall, in the regions they call the Wastes, something has already begun.
The real threat isn't a rival civilization. It's the universe itself: a force called the Breakdown is consuming reality, the same force that ended the golden age and the same force the First Emperor encountered when he crossed the Wall. The stars are going out. The only door to survival has always been the Black Hole Gate. Humanity found that answer once. What remains to be discovered is the cost of using it.
